Easter

April 4, 2010

We had a busy Easter Sunday. We were up, ready and out of the house around 7:00 a.m. to be at the church for rehearsal. We decided the new tradition in our house is that the Easter Bunny comes while we are at church. We know we will always be involved in the music program and we will never have a chance to look through the Easter Basket before church so it will be better just to decide that now.

We sang in 4 services on Easter Sunday morning and then met the family for lunch.

Stephanie and Damon had already left by the time we took the picture.

We came home and Nathan got to go through all the goodies the Easter Bunny had left him while we were out. Stephanie and Damon came over to hunt eggs in the living room because it was a little cold outside. Do I need to say we were all pretty exhausted by this part of the day.

Almost a Year!!

I know it has been almost been a year since I posted on here. We have had many things happen in this year but instead of going back through the year I think I will just start from here. There is plenty going to be happening and I hope to be able to keep up with posts this time.....

Lake Gresson - Daisy State Park

Friday evening we packed the car with camping gear, the family and even the dogs and headed North to Lake Gresson and Daisy State Park in Arkansas for a weekend on the lake. Thankfully we had a coldfront roll through so the weather was expected to be nice. We drove 4 and a half hours and met Stephanie and Damon at the campsite where they had already been for a couple of days. We unloaded our things and headed out for a ride around the lake on the boat in the sunset. Nathan's phrase for the weekend was "we are camping" with a smile in his voice. Saturday we were able to get out in the water and swim - even the dogs. Nathan had fun and liked that with the use of his life jacket and a little extra security of his ring he was able to swim around by himself and got pretty brave and comfortable in the water. He liked riding in the boat but always wanted to get back in the water and swim. The dogs weren't quite sure what was going on. Owen is actually a good swimmer but Zack wanted to hang on for dear life. Sunday morning we went back out on the lake and the weather was a little cooler and almost cold. We swam in the rain, ate lunch and headed back home. We had a good time. It was a good weekend.

Rooaarrr!!!

At school Nathan had his whole face painted for the first time. Of course he was a tiger. He was very protective of his painted face and didn't want to mess it up. He did really well with it - I was impressed. He didn't like the idea of a bath and having to wash it off but then we made it into a game and he was proud he washed his face by himself. This makes me look forward to Halloween and all the face painting possibilities.
